Moving home

Moving with Dodo is easy. All we need is a few details and we will have your electricity and gas connected on move day. Remember to organise your move at least 3 business days in advance of your connection date.


For an urgent electricity connection, please call 1300 345 847 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm AEST). Additional fees may apply for an urgent connection. Gas connections can take up to three business days.


Existing customers will need to call Dodo Power and Gas to organise their move on 13 36 36 (Monday to Friday 8am -7pm AEST) and provide the following information

  • Date for disconnection of services to your existing property

  • Date for connection of services to your new property

  • Address of your new property

  • Your identification details for authentication


New Dodo Power & Gas customers in Vic, NSW & SA can move by 

  • Organising a move online

  • Calling us on 13 36 36 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm AEST)

New Dodo Power & Gas customers in Queensland will need to call us on 13 36 36 (Monday to Friday, 8am - 7pm AEST) to organise their move as well as the Visual Safety Inspection appointment.


To organise a move, all new customers will need handy the address of the new property, the connection date and identification details for authentication.
Make sure that there is clear and safe access to your electricity and gas meters and remember to set your main electrical switch to “off” to ensure that you are connected on the date nominated.


If someone in your household has Life Support Equipment, it’s important to plan for unexpected energy outages. Contact us to register your life support machine. Concessions has detailed information relating to Concessions and Life Support.

If you are a new Dodo customer, there are no move in or connection fees if you connect between 8am and 7pm, Monday to Friday.

If you are an existing Dodo customer moving with Dodo, you will not be charged moving fees (disconnection or connection) if you connect between 8am and 7pm, Monday to Friday.

If you are connected outside of 8am – 7pm, Monday to Friday, after hour connection fees may apply.

Moving fees vary by fuel and distributor and are detailed in the Additional Retail Charges.

We recommend that you provide us with at least 3 business days’ notice to organise your electricity and gas connection.

Depending on where you live and whether or not the property has been disconnected, if your new premises is in Victoria, New South Wales or South Australia, you are not required to be at the premises to have your property connected.  However, please remember to set your main electrical switch to off.

If you are in Queensland, a Visual Safety Inspection (VSI) is required by law.  This requires an adult to be at the premises and a time slot between 8am & 6pm can be requested.

For an urgent electricity connection, 1300 345 847 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 7pm AEST). Extra fees may apply for urgent service.  Natural gas connections can take up to three business days, so we’ll need a bit more notice.

Please ensure that there is clear access to your electricity and gas meters, remember to set your main electrical switch to off, so we can complete your request safely.

If you don’t have access to your new property yet, contact your real estate agent to turn the main switch off.

If in Queensland, you will need a Visual Safety Inspection.

If you are not with us, contact your old energy provider to disconnect your old premises and get your final bill.

If you are a Dodo Power and Gas customer, call us on 13 36 36 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 7pm AEST) to disconnect your old premises and connect the new property.  We need a minimum of 3 business days’ notice for a disconnection/connection.

Your Life Support equipment registration is specific to your current address.  If you move to a new property, you will need to contact us to register your life support requirements at your new address.

If you have organised your move with us and there is no electricity or gas at your new premises, please contact us on 13 36 36 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 7pm AEST).

If you have not arranged your move, you can do so by contacting us on 13 36 36 (Monday – Friday, 8am – 7pm AEST) so we can start the process as quickly as possible for you.
