Setting up nbn™ hardware

To connect your modem via Fibre to the Node or Fibre to the Basement, follow the steps below:

1. Ensure that your modem is plugged in and turned on.
2. Locate your main telephone socket
3. Connect the telephone cable to the DSL port as shown below

Wait for the modem to connect to the nbn, the “internet” indicator on your modem will illuminate when ready.

Your modem should connect automatically, however in some instances you may need to power cycle your modem, or log into your modem and update the settings below:

• Connection type: PPPoE
• Username: "email address used on signup"
• Password: dodointernet
• VLAN: Not required/NA

To connect your modem via Fixed Wireless or Fibre to the Premises, follow the steps below:

1. Ensure that your modem is plugged in and turned on.
2. Locate your nbn™ Connection Box
3. Connect the Blue Ethernet cable as shown below

Wait for the modem to connect to the nbn, the “internet” indicator on your modem will illuminate when ready.

Your modem should connect automatically, however in some instances you may need to power cycle your modem, or log into your modem and update the settings below:

• Connection type: PPPoE
• Username: "email address used on signup"
• Password: dodointernet
• VLAN: Not required/NA

To connect your modem via Hybrid Fibre Coaxial or Fibre to the Curb, follow the steps below:

1. If it’s not already setup, connect your nbn™ connection box.
   • Click here if you have a black nbn connection box.
   • Click here if you have a white nbn connection box.
   • If you don't have either, you'll need to log a request via My Dodo
2. Ensure that your modem is plugged in and turned on.
3. Connect the Blue Ethernet cable as shown below

Wait for the modem to connect to the nbn, the “internet” indicator on your modem will illuminate when ready.

Your modem should connect automatically, however in some instances you may need to power cycle your modem, or log into your modem and update the settings below:

• Connection type: PPPoE
• Username: "email address used on signup"
• Password: dodointernet
• VLAN: Not required/NA

You shouldn’t need to do anything, once an nbn box has been installed, you only need to ensure that it is connected to a power socket, switched on before connecting your modem.

If your connection is FTTN or FTTB you will not need to setup any nbn hardware, you will only need to locate the main telephone socket, and connect a telephone/DSL cable (RJ11) from the socket to the modem.

Use the setup guide that matches your nbn™ supplied box below, and you’ll be up and running in no time.

*If you are unsure of your device, please check the device color, white nbn connection box or black nbn connection box setup guide.

Black nbn connection box

Once we’ve sent you an SMS to let you know that you’re ready to connect, refer to the image below to plug in the cables.

Connect your nbnTM connection box straight to your wall outlet, unless you have Pay TV. If you have Pay TV through your cable connection, you will need to use the supplied splitter from your brown box and follow the shaded area in diagram 1 below to plug in the cables.

You’ll know it’s ready when all four lights on the front are solid green. This could take up to 10 minutes.

White nbn connection box

Once we've got in touch (via SMS or email) to let you know that you're ready to connect, use the following instructions to plug in the cables.

Once it’s all plugged in, wait 15 minutes. You’ll know it’s ready when   the connection light and  broadband light turn solid blue.
